Fingers crossed for NZ Idol

Yes, it all starts this Sunday. And after watching most of both the Australian and US versions, the one thing I am really hoping for is some decent song selection.



Please, no more shmaltzy schlock from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Please, no more Simon and Garfunkel, Lionel Ritchie or Celine Dion. They were crap then, and they're still crap now.



Rumour has it that Split Enz ivory tinkler Eddie Rayner is the musical director, so here's hoping.
